Mt. Holly, NJ ~ Monkey Business

Holly Monkey incurred unexpected notoriety by being stolen from
its outdoor installation. Shortly after the monkeys were placed
in front of local shops and businesses in Mt. Holly, Irvane's
submission came up missing! The police searched high and low.
The media had a field day with it. "Monkey Business In Mt.
Holly, NJ" and other cleaver headlines to that effect were
in all the local and regional newscasts and newspapers. It even
made it into the NY Times! Reporters and photographers came to
interview Irvane in her studio. The perpetrator was never caught,
but local businesses chipped in and bought another monkey for
the artist to paint. All's well that ends well. The other monkeys
were all secured. Irvane got lots of publicity and Mt. Holly
got another monkey. |
